Recent changes at many Houston stations have prompted me to post a quick call to action!
Nope, sorry, I don't have any jobs to offer the many of you who have found themselves living the "Life After Radio".
I do know that email addresses of formerly employed radio folks may no longer be good addresses. And many of you may have lost your contact lists as well.
If you are one of the many recent "cut backs" in area radio and want to get your new email addresses out to everyone please let me know.

I will send out a newsletter including as soon as I can or you can post them as "comments" here. If you have a Facebook, MySpace or other website where folks can still touch base with you I'll be happy to post it on the sidebar as well.

Hello Leslie,
Once again, I'm out of work and the damn thing is, I don't know if I want back in radio. Why should I force the issue with an industry that's made it GLARINGLY apparent that it no longer wants me?
I really liked radio. I had a few good years in the biz...the the Telecom Act happened in 1996 and well, we all know what happened after that.
I'm doing some free lance writing but that's not cutting it financially and I've been applying for any job that even remotely looks promising. I've gone for the menial stuff, I've gone for the high end stuff and both types have always been met with distastrous results.
I have a blog that's done very well. It's a humor thing..kind of observational humor. You've been kind enough to link to it at this sight. Thank you for that, by the way. It can be found at http://lauriekendrick.wordpress.com.
If any body wants to commensurate about the state of radio or perhaps even discuss ways to keep me from inedentured servitude (I'm almost at the point where I'll wax comedic for food) I can be reached at lauriekendrick at aol dot com.
Thanks for the keyboard time, Leslie and best of luck and Happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwaanza and Winter Solstice to everyone.
There, I think my butt's covered.
Best,
Laurie Kendrick
